Sail aboard Sea Cloud Spirit—a brand-new member of the Sea Cloud family—on a classic voyage to historic treasures on both sides of the English Channel, including fascinating, lesser-visited islands, and onward to centuries-old estates along the Irish Sea's coastlines. After boarding Sea Cloud Spirit in Portsmouth, England, cross the Channel to Caen, France, once home to William the Conqueror and now lined with iconic medieval stone houses. In Bayeux, visit its 11th-century cathedral, which houses the legendary medieval Bayeux Tapestry. In the Channel Islands, step ashore on tiny Sark, an island untouched by time, to visit La Seigneurie, a 17th-century estate with granite-walled Victorian formal gardens. Stop in Guernsey for a tour of novelist Victor Hugo's exile hideaway. In the former Norman port of Dartmouth, England, join a guide to stroll its Elizabethan streets. Then visit Tresco in the Isles of Scilly to explore the 19th-century Abbey Garden, whose unusual climate fosters the growth of more than 4,000 subtropical species, including palm trees. After a day sailing the Irish Sea, anchor off the Welsh coast and visit 19th-century Bodnant Garden, with its famous Laburnum arch in bloom. Nearby, accompany the owners of the enchanting 18th-century mansion Plas Newydd for a look at their private collection, including an acclaimed landscape mural by Rex Whistler. Before disembarkation in Dublin, step ashore in Belfast, Northern Ireland, to see the Grade A-listed 19th-century Italianate palazzo at Ballywalter Park. On an owner-led tour, wander the estate's walled garden and admire its 18th-century greenhouses and iron-domed conservatory.
